Of course, we couldn't miss this year's 25th edition of the largest design festival, Designblok , and we offer you a short report from our visit.
The exhibition spaces of the festival are located in three places. In the Trade Fair Palace of the National Gallery Prague, you will find new Czech and foreign design, installations and educational lectures.
The main role in this location is played by glass , and here you will find new products from the brands Moser, Rückl, Klimchi,DECHEM and others. There is also a surprisingly large presence of fashion and fashion accessories from brands such as Braasi (backpacks), Buffet (beanies) or SegraSegra (tech wear). Glasses from Nastassia Aleinikava studio are very interesting.
Of the larger furniture , which unfortunately is not so much at the exhibition, Todus with its new outdoor sofa Dongo and Polstrin with its Seaside modular sofa set will definitely attract attention. If you are interested in storage spaces , be sure not to miss the Fleysen shelves and Lockers.
Another location of the festival is the Museum of Applied Arts in Prague , where the main theme is family businesses from Bohemia. There are fittings and handles from M&T, blankets and throws from Tkalcovna Kubák , replicated Modernista chairs or the legendary Merkur kit.
The last location is the Prague Castle Ballroom , where you will find the main exhibition called Cosmos. It is a mobile gallery containing ten original works of glass from dozens of top designers. Unlike the other two locations, this one is accessible until 15/10/2023, so don't miss it!
A ticket to the festival costs CZK 490 (can be purchased without problems on the spot or online ) and includes the opportunity to visit all locations. The last day of the festival is Sunday, October 8, 2023, with the exception of the Míčovna (see above).
